Caitlin Whitnall
British cellist Caitlín Whitnall (b. 2004) attends Putney High School on scholarship for music. She began her musical journey on the piano at the age of three and the cello was added after a year. She is currently studying in Robert Max's cello class at the Royal Academy of Music. She received her first lessons from Tessa Oakley.
During her time at the Royal Academy, Caítlin was first cellist of the Sinfonia Orchestra and is currently a member of the Senior Strings Chamber Orchestra. Caitlín was a member of the National Children's Orchestras of Great Britain for 3 years with which she performed in concerts around the United Kingdom.
She took music classes in Spain, Switzerland, japan and the UK including Musikworks, Cellofest and Bryanston. She has performed at master classes of Gemma Rosefield, Rosie Biss and Chris Hoyle and has been heard both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles in concert halls such as Cadogan hall, St.John's Smith Square, the Royal Festival Hall, Purcell Room and the Davos Congress center.
This year Caitlín received her Piano Associated board of the Royal Schools of Music ARSM Diploma with distinction and the Trinity ATCL Diploma.
