Master class Krzysztof Wegrzyn; lessons in nerves of steel and smart studying

The Polish violinist Krzysztof Wegrzyn is not only the right musician to bring the works of Polish and other Eastern European composers such as Szymanowski, Lutoslawski, Penderecki, Schnittke and Pärt closer to us in the Remonstrant Church in Alkmaar. He is also the man who knows what it takes to survive in big violin competitions. Not only did he win several prestigious prizes himself, he is now a much sought-after jury member and former artistic director of the Hannover International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition. His stories about growing nerves of steel, the right preparation and clever studying are not only often hilarious, they also increase the appreciation for the hard profession of musician.
