Master class Christopher Elton; insight into the pressures on a young musician

The name Christopher Elton might not ring a bell for a while. Yet the Scottish-born pianist is a celebrity. Especially among young piano students with soloist ambitions. The former head of the piano department of the Royal Academy of Music, where he is still a beloved teacher, knows better than anyone how pianists should prepare for competitions, competitions and a solo career. The teacher of such current luminaries as Yevgeny Sudbin and Inon Barnatan is an experienced judge at major international competitions and knows how to talk tastefully and insightfully in the Remonstrant Church in Alkmaar about the world behind the scenes. In addition, he is a great teacher with tremendous insight into the strengths and weaknesses of each pianist. A man who gives as fabulous as he is surprising insight into the pressures on a young musician on his way to the top.
