The trio in a Viennese, Russian and French perspective

The trio in a Viennese, Russian and French perspective
08/01/2023 @ 14:30 Amsterdam - The Concertgebouw

Storm
The Merz Trio is fast becoming an international factor of significance. The press everywhere praises the "fresh and surprising interpretations" of the trio that decided to go through musical life together during a violent storm in New York. The piano trio already won the Concert Artist Guild in 2019 and wrote several prestigious competitions like the Naumburg in 2021 to its name.

Fin de siècle
In the Small Hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Merz Trio surprisingly begins the concert with their own arrangements of brilliant songs from the Viennese fin de siècle. The masterful Piano Trios of Gabriel Fauré and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky encompass these 'Lieder ohne Worte' from a Russian and French perspective. A recital that will bring both the adventurer and the lover of the traditional piano trio to the edge of their seats.
