Compelling lyricism and French sophistication

Compelling lyricism and French sophistication

With Élise Bertrand, International Holland Music Sessions brings one of the greatest young talents from France to TAQA Theater De Vest in Alkmaar. The 22-year-old violinist has already won several violin competitions and is a much sought-after composer in her own country, a skill she mastered at the age of 11. Her playing in works such as Beethoven's 8ste sonata and Lekeu's sonata is compellingly lyrical and full of French refinement, and the Dutch premiere of her own Sonata for Violin Solo is a contemporary translation of the lyricism of the beginning of the last and present century. With seasoned pianist Natsumi Ohno at his side, Bertrand brings a programme that will bring every violin and music lover to ecstasy.
