Compelling lyricism and French sophistication with Élise Bertrand

Compelling lyricism and French sophistication with Élise Bertrand

With Élise Bertrand, International Holland Music Sessions brings one of the greatest young talents from France to the Kooger church in Zuid-Scharwoude. The 22-year-old violinist has already won several violin competitions and is also a much sought-after composer in her own country, a skill she mastered at the age of 11. Her playing in such works as Beethoven's 8th sonata and Lekeu's sonata is compellingly lyrical full of French sophistication, and the Dutch premiere of her own Sonata for solo violin are a contemporary translation of the lyricism of the early last and present centuries. With seasoned pianist Natsumi Ohno beside her, Bertrand brings a program that will bring any violin and music lover to ecstasy.
