Reinhard Latzko is perhaps the cello king of orchestral practice. Not only did he himself play for many years as a solo cellist in the Südwestfunk Sinfonieorchester, among others, he also has immense experience in coaching cello groups. Moreover, he is a chamber musician with a particular fondness for contemporary music. His knowledge and experience has made him a beloved teacher who now shines in the Remonstrant Church in Alkmaar and also shone again last fall at the prestigious Cello Biennale. His lessons on orchestral and chamber music practice are not only invaluable for cellists, he also knows how to use humor, stories and examples to give the public more insight into the role of the cello in orchestral and chamber music.
