Raymond (Dr. R.W.M.) Hautvast has been working as a cardiologist specializing in coronary interventions at the NoordWest Hospital in Alkmaar/Den Helder since 2002. After completing secondary school in Maastricht, he studied medicine in Nijmegen. He pursued his specialization and completed his doctoral research at the Academic Hospital in Groningen. In addition to his work as a cardiologist, he has been a board member since 2011 and currently serves as the Chair of the Dutch Revascularisation and Electrophysiology Summit (DRES), an annual two-day cardiology conference.

Raymond comes from a Limburg family with a strong musical tradition, with several family members pursuing professional careers in music. He himself has been playing the piano since the age of eight and has taken lessons at various stages of his life, most recently since 2012. His love for music plays a significant role in his life, with classical music as his foundation, although he finds inspiration in nearly every genre. Since 2002, Raymond has been living in Schoorl, at the foot of the country’s widest dunes.

In the IHMS Foundation Board, Raymond serves as Treasurer.
